Who should take this course?
PADI (Junior) Adventure Divers who are at least 12 years old and have completed the Underwater Navigation Adventure Dive may enroll in a Rescue Diver course. You also need to have Emergency First Response Primary and Secondary Care (CPR and First Aid) training within the past 24 months. You can complete this training during the Rescue Diver course
What will you learn?The PADI Rescue Diver course prepares you to deal with dive emergencies, minor and major, using a variety of techniques.
Through knowledge development and rescue exercises, you learn what to look for and how to respond. During rescue scenarios, you put into practice your knowledge and skills. Topics include:
Recognizing and managing stress in other divers
Emergency management and equipment
Rescuing panicked divers
Rescuing unresponsive divers

This course is essential if you want to move towards being professional. It will enhance your knowledge and development of Scuba Diving. You will achieve 5 rescue training sessions (in pool, confined or open water, from shore or boat) plus 4 open water rescue scenarios. Before starting module 2 of the Rescue Diver course, it is necessary to complete an Emergency First Response
ourse within 24 months, or an equivalent 'accepted' certification including primary care (CPR) and secondary care (First Aid) within 24 months. Everyone is asked to complete a day's diving prior to starting the Rescue Course, to check weights, buoyancy and equipment.The areas of knowledge you will cover:
• Response from shore or boat with both a responsive and unresponsive diver
• Distressed diver underwater
• Missing diver
• Surfacing the unresponsive diver
• Response at surface and exit
• First aid for pressure related injuries and oxygen administration

• All divers must be a minimum age of 12 years.
• PADI requests you have a signed a Medical Certificate.
• You must already be a PADI Open Water Diver (or equivalent).
